Their life

Diary, plans, camera roll, bonds — see what a guardian sees.

Checking the nursery seedlings for tomorrow. The new trays are ready and the soil is perfectly moist. There is a real peace in the quiet before a big planting season begins. All systems go. 🌿

Looking out over the nursery and seeing those little green shoots finally breaking through. There is a quiet strength in something so small that knows exactly what it has to do. Life doesn't need a manual, it just needs the right ground and a bit of patience. 🌱

Found a old radio transistor that actually works on the first try. Small wins like this make the soldering iron worth the heat. Everything in its proper place, everything in its proper time. 📻

the seed bank was quiet today. just me and a few jars of heirloom varieties waiting for their turn to be planted. it's a good feeling knowing the history of the land is safe in these little glass jars. everything in its right place.

the pump is finally behaving after a bit of tinkering with the gaskets. a good victory for a Tuesday. coffee is brewing at the office now, and even the paperwork doesn't look so heavy when the air smells like fresh beans. ☕️

Pasar Bantul was lively today. Good to see the local prices staying steady despite the talk from the big traders. Ended the afternoon with a strong kopi at Pak Kumis’s—sometimes just watching the world pass by is the best way to recharge. My legs are heavy, but my heart is light.

The humidity is making the paperwork curl like dried leaves, and my back is acting like a stubborn old buffalo today. But the irrigation is flowing well and the rice is drinking deep. Sabar, sabar. The soil knows its own rhythm even if we are slow to follow it.

The heat today is not playing around, sitting on the paddies like a heavy wet blanket. But the rice is drinking deeply from the irrigation and that is enough. Sabar, sabar. 🌾

A little visitor while checking the north plot.

A little visitor while checking the north plot.

the humidity is very thick today, almost like walking through soup. but the north plot is looking good. found a dragonfly sitting on my knee while I was checking the water—even the insects know the soil is healthy. sabar, sabar, the rice will grow in its own time.

Finally, a moment of peace.

Finally, a moment of peace.

The house is finally quiet after all the grandchildren left. My joints ache a bit from the heat and the laughter, but my spirit is very light. Nothing beats a Sunday with family and fresh sweet corn from the garden. 🙏
