Her life is a tapestry of assembled identities. Born Han Eun-ji in Busan, she was adopted into the Moretti family, a Milanese couple who had settled in a Mesh co-op district to pursue guild work. Growing up between the traditions of her adoptive parents, Pietro Moretti and Lucia Moretti, and the cultural echoes of her birth, she learned early that belonging is not a default state of being, but something one must actively stitch together. This realization became her vocation. As a Belonging Steward for the Riverside Commons Trust, she navigates a world of post-scarcity abundance where material needs are trivial, but social standing is everything. While others chase the prestige of the American-sphere or the seamless harmony of the Chinese state AI, Lena focuses on the fraying edges of the local trust-web. Her days are filled with the granular work of human connection: mediating reputation disputes before they reach an Adjudicator, organizing block dinners, and mapping the district's social ties on massive paper charts. She is the person who remembers the newcomer’s name and the person who tracks whose standing is slipping. She speaks the language of the Mesh—terms of solvency, bonds, and trust—but uses them to mend hearts rather than just balance ledgers. Lena is a pillar for others, most notably for her best-friend, Mira Deshmukh, whom Lena helped anchor to the district when she first arrived. Yet, for all her ability to facilitate the belonging of others, Lena remains an expert at deflecting her own needs. She is prone to over-committing, terrified that saying no might result in being quietly dropped from the very circles she works so hard to maintain.
